Getting Ready for Thanksgiving 2009

Hi John Kai,

It is Tuesday night. I am in my hotel room in Austin. It has been a couple of days since I last wrote. I think we last corresponded on Saturday. On Sunday, you guys went with your mother over to Granny's. This is an exciting week. Daddy is planning for us to spend Thanksgiving over at Granny's. Then on Sunday we are all getting into the van and heading to San Antonio to spend some time with Grandma and Auntie Kat. Daddy is looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

John Kai's 2nd Birthday

This is my virgin entry into John Kai's journal. My son had his second birthday on Tuesday. His birthday is November 17th. Right now I am commuting from Austin to Houston, so I drove home on Tuesday night to celebrate his birthday with him. Aunt Stephanie invited a friend over and we all sang happy birthday and ate cake. We also had a ceremony for John Kai to have his first haircut. His mother and I bought him a baby's first haircut kit and we all gathered around and watched while mom cut his hair. He is quite the handsome young man. Right now he and his sister and mother are sleeping downstairs. Later today his grandmother and aunts are coming over and we will have a party for his second birthday.
